Hello, my name is Wei Shiyin, but you could also call me Katrina.

I am very interested in the major related to journalism because I want to be a journalist who could uncover the truth behind the story.

Meanwhile, I have many internship experiences such as publishing some articles or shooting for women’s marathon in China News Service. These experiences helped me improve language skills and photography abilities. Most importantly, I learnt how to tell “true stories”.

Besides, I had my own media works. I created a microfilm, The Summer We Lost Focus, which illustrates the pros and cons of social media to teenagers. I also conducted an interview, which aimed at exploring the impact of reading in teenagers’ mental health.

I do believe that a solid academic foundation and extensive media practice will enable me to continuously develop in the field of journalism and media, and I also look forward to contributing my cross-regional perspective to the media community.
